Why Vietnam on an organized tour?
From the Gulf of Tonkin to the banks of the Mekong, Vietnam unfolds 3,000 kilometers of striking contrasts. In a fortnight, it is possible to go from the karst peaks of Halong Bay to the lantern alleys of Hoi An, from the imperial tombs of Hue to the frenzy of Saigon, without ever having the impression of flying over. This is precisely what the organized tour allows: a fluid progression from north to south, with local guides who transform each step into a living story.
The country is vast, domestic air connections are fast and cheap (less than 50 EUR Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City), but the logistics remain complex for those traveling alone for the first time. An operator takes care of transfers, junk cruises, nights in the rice field in Sapa and reservations of imperial specialties in Hue. Just have a look.
Note on climatic contrasts:Vietnam has not one but three seasons depending on the latitude. The north (Hanoi, Sapa, Halong) has a cool winter and a summer rainy season. The center (Hue, Hoi An) receives its typhoons in autumn. The south (Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta) alternates between dry and monsoon seasons. A north-south circuit works ideally from November to March, when the good weather covers the entire territory.
